Here are a couple of excercises that I've had laying around my hard-drive for the past year, along with a 'head turn' that I've just recently completed. Ball Bounce:

Mechanical Walk cycle:

Head turn:

I have plans to do some more of these. Maybe re-do a couple of my first year animation excercises to see how I've improved. Stay tuned till then!

As promised, part 3 of my little style-refining project. After I'd gotten to a point where I was happy with the appearance and had done my turn around, I decided to try out a few expressions. After that, I did a couple of body studies and, whilst useful I realised that after my character design work for KingBee, I was.. kinda happy with how I did bodies. And so, with all the preliminary work done I decided to have another crack at an 'Animated self portrait'. Sketchbook expression drawings. (Link included)

25 Expression Challenge.

Body Study. (Link included.)

Animated Self portrait

CV and Profile Icons.

Showreel endcard. Learned how to do handwriting in after effects thanks to this!

Overall I'm pretty happy with what I've done and I'm ready to start animating some dialogue and acting scenes! Stay tuned!

As I go into my fourth month at the internship I've had the privilege of creating some pretty great stuff and learning/honing skills vital for animation.

One such skill is preparing a character design for puppet/vector based animation in Adobe Animate. After finishing the character designs for Jigna, I was tasked with taking a character they had designed and recreating it in Adobe Animate, splitting the body, limbs and facial features into separate layers so they could be controlled separately.

I also had to put in various hand poses, eye expressions and mouth shapes in accordance with the storyboard and after that, I decided to put it all to test in an animation.

I learned afterwards that the fore-shortening of the hands as he passes the sack from one to another wasn't necessary, as the animators would simply skew and stretch parts when needed. Regardless, I added assets as I saw fit and eventually ended up with a fairly extensive asset list.

Punctuation thief asset breakdown.

Since then I've done asset creation for a few of the side characters that accompany the punctuation thief, and when they're finished I'll publish asset breakdowns of them to.

In the meantime, a couple of jpegs!

Bank teller Assets

Policemen assets.

And for now, that's about it! I plan to continue working on simplifying my drawing style - something I've had to put aside the last couple of weeks. Stay tuned!
